Today, Tuesday 6th February, it was Safer Internet Day in the UK. Calmore Infants took part and celebrated everything we knew about how to keep safe. We were really good at explaining to Smartie the Penguin about what to do when he found himself in a muddle. We told him to tell a grown up when he was sad or upset by something he saw online. We also talked about not clicking on links from people who we didn’t know. The children were incredibly impressive with everything they could tell each other about keeping safe.
Later in our classes, we read a story and watched some videos about keeping safe. Some children pointed out that before you even go online, it is important to tell an adult what you’ll be doing. Some of us used Purple Mash to make ‘Keeping Safe Online’ posters and others drew some. We’ll be putting these around the school to remind each other the importance of staying safe when we are on the internet.
