We had hand inspections, drills, and practised walking with straight backs! Our teachers were very strict but thankfully they didn’t need to use the cane. We enjoyed learning poems, sewing, playing […]
Year 1 had a wonderful day at Beaulieu. We met Miss Clark, a teacher from the Victorian times, who was very strict! We dressed up as Victorian children and discovered how children were treated in the past. We rode on the monorail and in an old fashioned car.
We practised programming beebots today. We programmed our beebot to travel around our maps and visit different places around Calmore.
This week we practised travelling in different ways and at different speeds. We focused on our posture and balance.
We enjoyed our afternoon with James, our Saints coach developing our fundamental movement skills. We travelled in lots of different ways, practising our stopping and starting. We practised stopping in the correct position to help us balance. Ask your child to show you how to stop correctly.
We have had such fun over the last 6 weeks in our games club. We have played and some of us mastered Monopoly, Pontoon (making 21), Chess, Connect 4, Uno and Top Trumps. Please play these games at home with your child.
On Tuesday we enjoyed our Sparklers and Stories evening. The children shared stories with their parents and enjoyed hot chocolate and sparklers.

We made Roasted Fox (sweet potato chips), Purple Prickles Pancake (blueberry pancakes) and Terrible Tusks (fruit kebab). The children also enjoyed creating dens for him to live in and they wrote him a letter to make him […]
