Year 1 had a fantastic day on Tuesday 23rd January. We all got the coach to Beaulieu and had a great day learning new things surrounding our topic all about houses and homes. We visited the beautiful palace house where the governess Miss Clark showed us what it would be like to be a child living in a big house in Victorian times. We practiced walking like Victorian children, dressed up in clothes they would have worn and even had a chance to look and play with some old Victorian toys. We even had to practice standing and walking the way Victorian children would have been expected to. It was really interesting looking around the big house and comparing it to our houses. We were also lucky enough to have a tour of the motor museum. We saw lots of old (and famous!) cars and even got to honk an old car horn. It was really loud! The rain did not stop us from having a great day, we still managed to have a ride in an old fashioned car, ride the monorail and got to go on the Wheels ride. The coach journey home was full of lots of talk about what a fantastic day we had and what our favourite part was!
